Junior quarterback D’Eriq King and junior forward Desiree Bowen won American Athletic Conference honors after stellar performances over the weekend.
Bowen scored a pair of goals in the home games against Sam Houston and McNeese to help women’s soccer improve to a 4-4 record. Bowen now has 15 career goals with about two and half seasons of play.
King won the AAC Offensive Player of the Week. He threw four touchdowns and ran for two more in Houston’s big win over PAC-12 opponent Arizona.
King’s four touchdown passes in the game was a career-high, and he could have had more if not for some untimely drops.
The soccer team plays its next game Friday against Air Force in Colorado while the football team plays Texas Tech in Lubbock Saturday.
