BREAKING: Robbery reported at Metro stop near College of Optometry

This morning, at approximately 8:18 a.m., UHPD responded to a robbery report at the Metro bus stop #11474 located at Martin Luther King Boulevard and Wheeler Avenue, on the west side of the street, near College of Optometry. The incident occurred almost two weeks before campus reopens for the fall 2026 semester. 

Three suspects involved in the incident were observed leaving campus on foot. All suspects were Black males, between 17-20 years of age.

The first suspect was wearing a grey hoodie and light grey pants, the second suspect was wearing a red t-shirt and dark-colored pants and the third suspect was wearing a black t-shirt and light-colored pants, with long dreadlocks. 

No weapons or vehicles were reported at the scene, according to UHPD. 

Students were notified of the incident through UH Alert system at approximately 10:17 a.m. and are encouraged to be alert and cautious of their surroundings.
