In Friday’s paper, your report card bashed the U.S. Senate for doing its job in keeping our interest as tax-paying, law-abiding citizens first ("Staff editorial: This week’s Report Card shows large discrepancy in Congress," Friday, Opinion).
The article states that the DREAM Act in no way is extending amnesty to undocumented people.
While also stating it would award an undocumented student education, employment and the same opportunities to succeed as a U.S citizen has. T his sounds somewhat familiar to amnesty.
If you think that the failing of the DREAM Act is the reason that the lives of undocumented students are in "limbo," you are sadly mistaken.
Please do not blame our Senate for the shortcomings of their countries of origin.
