Faith fellowship connects with fun and games

Students can win an array of prizes, ranging from gas cards, a Nintendo Wii package or a flat-screen TV, as the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship hosts Game Night at 6:30 tonight at the University Center, World Affairs Lounge.

The event, which will feature The Price is Right and Hole in One, is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend.

All prizes, with the exception of those in the Showcase Showdown, will be randomly awarded.

The student organization held a phone-a-thon and a time of prayer Sunday and raised nearly $2,000 in funds to host the event.

"At the beginning we do new student outreaches. These events are ways to reach out to the campus in a non-threatening way," biomedical engineering senior Eric Reyes said.

The Christian organization hosts Bible studies, prayer groups and large group worships throughout the semester.

"We are also all about Jesus and sharing about the relationship that we have with him," said InterVarsity Christian Fellowship staff member and UH alumus Jeremiah Situka.
