Bridal show to help local students

All brides-to-be, keep Sunday afternoon open because you need not miss "An Afternoon of Bridal Luxury" from 2 to 4 p.m. this Sunday, September 7, 2008.

Presented by Houston Brides Magazine, the event will begin at Gravitas Restaurant, 807 Taft St, and continue to Bering ‘ James Gallery, 805 Rhode Place #500. Messina Hof Winery and Resort will provide a selection of wines.

Brides can register to win numerous prizes including a dream wedding from The Glass Slipper Show. They will also have the opportunity to register and possibly win a three-night honeymoon package that includes a luxury suite courtesy of the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico or Costa Rica.

Admission is $30 for brides and $20 for guests. A portion of the profit will go to the Fairy Godmother Project, a charity that provides prom apparel to high school students who cannot afford it. The charity collects donations of new and gently used prom dresses, cocktail dresses, suits, tuxes, shoes, jewelry and accessories. Guests are encouraged to bring prom attire to donate.
