Honoring veterans with wine, food

Though Veterans Day is Tuesday, it was honored on a beautiful sunny Saturday in Levy Park at the Red Wine and Blue Festival.

The Houston Intown Chamber of Commerce’s patriotic-themed food and wine festival supported local veterans and attracted wine lovers who enjoyed a variety of red and white wines from Texas wineries.

There were also a number of restaurants represented that gave delicious samples to complement the wines. Some of the restaurants featured were Carrabba’s, Mark’s American Cuisine, Pesce, Shade and Whole Foods.

Acoustic rock band Petesimple provided entertainment for the event, giving it a fun and relaxed atmosphere. They played songs from their album produced by LMR records, Freaky Timber Witch, such as "Most of the Time" and "Oh Lover." Their next show will be at 10 p.m. on Saturday, December 6 at Parrot Pub, 5010-AB Louetta Road, Spring, Texas.

It was a great day for everyone honoring and celebrating veterans with wonderful food, drink and music.
