A year cannot go by without a new album from country music’s reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, Kenny Chesney. Chesney’s new album, Lucky Old Sun is a personal reflection on his past, including his short marriage to Katy native Ren’eacute;e Zellweger.
Certain songs on this album are a little more fun than the ones on his previous personal LP, Old Blue Chair. One in particular is "Ten with a Two." This song is about what happens when you have way too much to drink and you can’t really see what or who is in front of you.
Other songs on Lucky Old Sun have a personal look into Chesney’s life and what he was feeling during the time of his separation from Zellweger. A few of those songs are "Way Down Here," "Spirit of a Storm" and "Nowhere to Go, Nowhere To Be," which was one of the songs written exclusively by Chesney.
In "Nowhere To Go, Nowhere To Be," Chesney realizes that after a day of relaxing and sitting at a bar that his life was finally calm and he was at peace.
The first single "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven" is his way of making fun of his crazy life and still wanting to get to heaven even though he is not the most well behaved boy in Tennessee.
To Chesney, his music is his release and his peace from the crazy life he lives everyday. When he is able to go to the Caribbean and sit on his boat, his problems flow over him and he is able to just be himself.
If you are a fan of Kenny Chesney and want to read his journal, then Lucky Old Sun is the album that you are going to want to get. Be sure to see Kenny when he comes to Houston for his 2009 tour.
