FIVE MINUTES OF FAME: Sophomore works, plays hard

Matt Miller: So, how has your summer gone?

Michael Ford: Not bad. I think I’ve wasted too much time hollerin’ at girls, not enough time spent making cash.

Miller: Do you have a job?

Ford: Yeah, I work at O’Reilly Auto Parts. It’s pretty relaxed.

Miller: For real? I got a friend who works at Auto Zone. How relaxed is that job? Do you ever get mean, drunk people who just want to argue?

Ford: All the time. Most of the time their complaints aren’t even valid. They’re just whining because they know someone has to listen to them. I feel bad for those people.

Miller: Why do you feel bad?

Ford: Because they have nothing better to do than complain with some guy who works at an auto parts store. It’s like people who complain about how much stuff costs. If it’s too much then why are you buying it?

Miller: I can tell you don’t like your job. I’ve had a few like that in my time.

Ford: Yeah, it’s not the greatest job in the world. Other than the customers who always complain, it’s all right for now.

Miller: What do you plan to do after graduating ‘hellip; what’s your major?

Ford: I’m undeclared right now, but I’m probably going to pick sociology or anthropology, or something that deals with cultures and people.

Miller: Why? Then you’ll have a hard time finding a job.

Ford: So will you. You’re a journalist.

Miller: Don’t remind me, and quit dodging my question.

Ford: I’ll find a job doing something somewhere. People love me.

Miller: People love you because?

Ford: I stay on my grind. No one hates my work ethic.

Miller: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Ford: Keep your mind on your money, and stay in school.
