Volleyball – UH adds new coach; will host camp in upcoming summer

Head coach Molly Alvey enlisted in the help of Steve Vencl to become the latest member of her staff as an assistant coach.
Vencl will coordinate the team’s away games and use video as a way for the Cougars to improve and scout other teams.
“With Steve joining the program, we gain a new and positive dynamic to the team and the culture that we are constantly trying to nurture,” Alvey said in a release. “
“Our plan for Steve is to grow and develop our teaching methods by advancing the application of our video systems for training. He will also play an integral role in recruiting.”
Vencl’s last coaching gig was as a volunteer assistant at Marquette last season.
UH will host several clinics this summer to benefit youth volleyball players in the area. Players aged from 14-18 are invited to participate.
From July 23-25 there will be a general and elite skills camp for beginning and advanced volleyball players. Players aged from 10-18 are invited to the general skills camp, and players ages 14-18 for the elite camp.
On July 26 will be the UH Team Camp for high school teams to work together.
The UH Team Shootout on July 29-30 will allow high school teams to compete with one another.
