Women’s Basketball – Cougars finish spring strong with Alford signing

The Cougars wrapped the spring signing period by signing forward Terran Alford to a National Letter of Intent.

As a senior, the 6’1 Alford averaged 10.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game for the Oklahoma City Storm, a homeschool basketball team.

Head coach Todd Buchanan praised Alford’s character and potential on the floor in a release.

“Terran is the epitome of a true student-athlete and her character is second to none,” Buchanan said in a release. “Not only did we get a great kid from a great family, but it also gets us into the Oklahoma City area, where I would like to get more involved.

“Terran is incredibly talented from a basketball standpoint. She’s a little raw, but is hungry to learn. Terran has a lot of intangibles that you can’t coach, such as heart, desire and an incredible attitude. Her defensive game is ahead of her offense right now because of her length and athleticism, but she’ll put in the work.”

Alford is the tenth prospect to sign with UH for the upcoming season.
