The festival circuit has begun and there are a lot of bands and artists getting ready to tour the country. This summer, Houston’s own local festival, Free Press Summer Fest, will present its third installment.
The line-up has yet to be announced, but fortunately there are rumors and speculation about a number of bands that may play the festival.
One band, Two Door Cinema Club, is not mentioned on the Fest’s roster because of technical difficulties on the band’s UK website — we can only assume they will be there. The band posted an announcement confirming an appearance at Summer Fest on Tuesday. The posting has since been removed from the band’s website.
The band has a massive following in the UK and has received positive criticism for their debut album, “Tourist History.”
Later this year, they will release an album highly anticipated by fans.
Their hit, “Something Good Can Work,” has been on the top of lists on multiple sites and charts in the UK and has finally begun to reach American shores.
This is a huge step for the festival and means that it is finally gaining appeal in the international world of music.
Houston has finally caught the attention of the European music scene and has expanded its horizons from booking only American bands.
Since Pegstar — which is partnered with Fitzgerald’s — sponsors this event, there was hope that there would be a broadening of music, and it has finally arrived.
2 door in the fest!? I like it
Can't wait for Summer Fest.
Yay! Thanks for commenting! I will try to get more info on bands in the coming weeks.
