UH welcomes new sorority
A new chapter of a national sorority was added to the family of Greek organizations at UH on Wednesday.
The UH Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life announced that Sigma Kappa will join the Houston Panhellenic group in the fall.
The sorority was founded on Nov. 9, 1874 by five women from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. Since then, Sigma Kappa has grown to reach numerous universities.
Sigma Kappa’s mission is to create and fund leadership, scholarship and philanthropic initiatives that reflect the values and spirit of the sorority, according to its website.
