Update: Adjunct faculty member put on leave, banned from campus

The adjunct faculty member removed from campus on Sept. 10 amid child sexual abuse material allegations has been put on administrative leave and banned from returning to campus, according to a University spokesperson.

“The University has zero tolerance for child exploitation, abuse or child sexual abuse materials,” the spokesperson said. “Due to the nature of the allegations, the case will be investigated by a specialized task force within the Houston Police Department.”

The UHPD questioned the adjunct faculty member yesterday after being made aware of an ongoing disruption on campus.

In accordance with 2023 Classroom Disruption Task Force guidelines, UHPD actively addresses and responds to any classroom disruptions.

An internal UHPD notification related to Alex Rosen, the individual involved in the classroom disruption, was also issued to UHPD officers after he left the scene.

To maintain an uninterrupted academic environment, enforcement is applied consistently across all scenarios resulting in student disciplinary procedures or formal trespass warnings for non-affiliated individuals.

As a result, a be on the lookout was also issued by UHPD and is an internal notification that goes only to its officers.
