The woman assaulted by UH defensive lineman Carmello Dedric Brooks asked that all charges against Brooks be dismissed.
Brooks appeared in court on Monday for two separate criminal charges, including one allegation that he physically assaulted a pregnant woman. However, the alleged victim, Nariah Harley, said police misunderstood what happened.
Harley said Brooks was the one who called the police because she would not leave his apartment. Prosecutors will review the claim after going over policy body camera footage. Harley also said she does not consider herself a victim.
Brooks is suspended from the football team, but it is unclear if he will still be able to attend classes while the charges are pending.
